Parking questions are short, frequent and important to the guest. A guest who arrives late in the evening, tired after a long drive, and cannot find the car park — or finds it full, or discovers the van is too tall for the garage — starts the stay in a bad mood. A complete reply beforehand avoids all of that, and takes less than a minute to write once your parking facts are written down.
What the guest wants to know
- Where do I park? On site, in a garage, on the street or in a public car park nearby.
- What does it cost? Per night or per 24 hours, and how they pay.
- Do I need to reserve? And is a space guaranteed?
- Will my car fit? Height limits for vans, camper vans and roof boxes; spaces for trailers.
- Can I charge my electric car?
- How do I find it? The address to put in the GPS, which is not always the hotel's street address.

Example: how BookingWatch answers
A typical guest e-mail with several parking questions at once, and the reply BookingWatch drafts from the hotel's parking information:
Guest e-mail · Parking and charging on Friday
We're arriving Friday evening by car. Do you have parking, and can we charge our electric car? It's a fairly tall SUV with a roof box. My father uses a wheelchair, so close to the entrance would be great.
Thank you,
Daniel

Thank you for your message — we'll make your arrival as easy as possible.
We have an outdoor car park right next to the hotel. Parking is €12 per night and is added to your bill. Since it is outdoors, there is no height limit, so the roof box is no problem.
I have reserved our accessible space next to the main entrance for you on Friday. It is about ten metres from the door, with no steps. We also have two chargers (Type 2) in the car park; they can't be booked in advance, but reception will help you if they are busy when you arrive.
In your GPS, please use the hotel address — the car park entrance is on the left just before the hotel.
Warm regards,
Anna

Write your parking facts down once
Every parking reply is built from the same handful of facts. Collect them in one place for your team and your AI assistant. The values below are only examples:
| Question | Example answer |
|---|---|
| Where | Outdoor car park beside the hotel, 20 spaces |
| GPS address | Car park entrance from Harbour Road, not the main street |
| Price | Fixed price per night, added to the bill |
| Reservation | Possible; guaranteed once noted on the booking |
| Height limit | None outdoors; garage 2.0 m |
| EV charging | 2 chargers, Type 2, pay in the app, cannot be booked |
| Accessible parking | 1 space next to the entrance, reserved on request |
| If full | Public car park 300 m away, open 24 hours |
| Hand to staff | Coaches, trailers, several vehicles for a group |
Turn parking into a better stay — and revenue
- Sell parking with the room. If guests can add a reserved space when they book, many will — and you get fewer questions.
- Put the GPS address in the confirmation. The car park entrance is often on a different street from the hotel.
- Mention it in the pre-arrival e-mail. "Arriving by car? Here is where to park" answers the question before it is asked.
- Offer charging as a service if you have chargers — EV drivers often choose a hotel because of it.
- Think of accessibility. If a guest mentions a wheelchair or limited mobility, offer the closest space and say exactly how far it is to the door.
Common mistakes
- Answering "yes, we have parking" without the price — so the guest is surprised by the bill.
- Giving the hotel's street address when the car park entrance is somewhere else.
- Forgetting the height limit, so a van arrives at a garage it cannot enter.
- Promising a space without noting it on the booking.
- Saying "there is parking nearby" without naming the car park or the distance.
